The
2013 Billboard Music Awards was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on
Sunday (May 19) in Las Vegas and Taylor Swift made the show RED hot!
The singer and her 3.5 million plus-selling “Red“ dominated the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, winning Eight awards out of her 11 Billboard Music Awards nominations. She then gave a thrilling performance singing her hit song “22” while riding on the back of a bike to the main stage amidst a colourful backdrop of red balloons and several dancers.]
The 2013 Billboard Music awards was less about the awards and more about the performances - The three-hour Awards show was performance heavy (16 in total) with the majority of winners being revealed off stage. Bruno Mars and his band kicked off the show with his new single “Treasure“.
Miguel, too, had a show-stopping performance - mesmerising the crowd with his live performance before attempting to jump over the crowd during his “Adorn” performance and hitting two female fans in the process.
Justin Bieber performed his song “Take You” while his better half Selena Gomez rendered her seductive new song “Come & Get It“. They were spotted sharing a kiss backstage. Click here to see photos and video of the kiss.
Nicki Minaj gave Lil Wayne a lap dance during the performance for “High School”.
There were also performances from Chris Brown ”Fine China“; Duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ”Thrift Shop“; Icona Pop “I Love It” and David Guetta, Akon & Ne-Yo “Play Hard”
Prince performed a medley of his classic “Let’s Go Crazy”, Edgar Winter’s instrumental “Frankenstein” & “Fix Ur Life Up” and was given the Icon Award for a career that includes 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles. Pitbull also made two appearances – one with Jennifer Lopez - ”Live It Up“ and another with Christina Aguilera - “Feel This Moment”.
Comedian-actor Tracy Morgan was the show’s host and he came on-stage dressed as Psy in a bright yellow suit while the rapper-singer Psy was onstage to present an award. They had a dance battle to Psy‘s new single, “Gentleman”
It was truly an amazing night!
